I (Karly) have been really into metal lately. My husband is a metal fabricator and his company just bought a plasma table…meaning I can cut nearly any design out of metal! Although I naturally gravitate towards super intricate designs and I am learning the plasma table does not appreciate such intricacy.
I studied graphic design in college so this is so fun for me to see computer generated images come to life in 3D. I now am able to operate the machine and press brake *almost* all by myself 😀 Here are some fun new projects that are in Verbena’s Etsy Shop. Metal is so unique because there are endless finishes. You can leave it raw and clear coat it to prevent it from rusting. You can let it rust naturally over time or speed up the rusting process to get your desired effect, then clear coat it to prevent it from rusting even further. There is so much more character in a rusted piece! Another option is paint; I always love painting metal gold! Metal is super strong and durable and lasts forever.
